Reincarnations Furnishings has a rather humble origin. It began as a yard sale. The success of that yard sale prompted me to have another but this time, I refinished some old furniture by painting it, faux-finishing it or reupholstering it. The result was an eye opener. I moved on to flea markets. Early one Sunday, I sold out of my “reincarnated” pieces and people began asking where my store was located. The comments inspired me to consider the biggest decision of my life to quit my fifteen-year career in visual display and open a store front of my own. I accepted the challenge.
As a young man, I shopped numerous stores that provided the home furnishings look that I loved, but I couldn't afford. So I resolved to make this my retail raison d’être. My philosophy was simple create a unique and exciting atmosphere where savvy shoppers could discover an eclectic mix of old and new furnishings and unusual decorative accessories with a high-end look, but at astonishingly moderate prices.
In April 1993, I opened Reincarnations Furnishings in a modest, 600-square-foot space. Although I am no longer refinishing furniture to sell, Reincarnations Furnishings has held strong to its philosophy. As we have grown, our product lines have grown, too, to include original designed items, seasonal furnishings and accessories and lighting. I welcome you into our house, where just maybe, you’ll find something that belongs in yours.
